Auckland Zoo’s primate keeper Amy takes us into Sumatra’s Leuser Ecosystem – home of some of the world’s most incredible species!
As Auckland Zoo gears up to launch its expansive new South Easy Asia habitat in Summer 2020, we join them for a look at how the Auckland Zoo Conservation Fund is supporting the region.
Join Auckland Zoo’s primate keeper, Amy, as she journeys to Sumatra to learn more about how money raised by the fund is helping to save wild orangutans, elephants and preserve the ecosystem of the largest forest left in South East Asia.
Over four episodes, we’ll follow Amy as she returns to visit projects the fund has helped to support, meeting the dedicated locals who are helping to rehabilitate the animals and develop the knowledge of the local community in Sumatra around topics like sustainable palm oil.
Stream from Monday 20th January.
