Hosted by three young, smart doctors, new TVNZ 1 local series The Checkup will delve into the world of medicine from a millennial’s perspective.
These digitally native, progressive and future focused doctors conduct state of the art experiments and scrutinise long-held beliefs, before reaching their own conclusions.
As doctors who have grown up in a tech-laden world, they think, work and interact differently to most and are putting old-school medical myths under a new-school microscope, debunking what we think we know to be true about medicine.
The Checkup is a 10-part factual series that investigates health claims, myths & misconceptions to help provide viewers with the information they need to make their own health decisions.
It will screen in primetime on TVNZ One in 2019.
The half -hour show will feature a team of doctors Mataroria Lyndon, Samantha Bailey, Gareth Shalley and Jayani Kannangara, who will investigate new treatments and medical advances, with an eye to debunking common misconceptions.
It is a journey of discovery with the doctors as they consult specialists and conduct their own research and experiments to discover the truth about our health.
The Checkup is produced by Great Southern Film and Television, the award-winning production company responsible for Coast NZ and The Casketeers.
