The Best Foods Comedy Gala returns to Auckland for another side-splitting year, launching the 2019 NZ International Comedy Festival with Best Foods Mayo with a smorgasbord of tasty comedic delights.
Leading the line-up for this year’s event are New Zealand’s favourite South African, Urzila Carlson, 5-star rated comedic maestro James Acaster (UK), The Chase’s Paul ‘Sinnerman’ Sinha (UK), and 2018 Billy T Award winner Melanie Bracewell, winner of the 2018 Fred Award Chris Parker (NZ) and star of stage, screen and Twitter Becky Lucas (AUS). Critically acclaimed UK comedian and host of Viceland’s Hate Thy Neighbor, Jamali Maddix (UK) and one of NZ’s hottest comedians Pax Assadi (NZ) (Spinoff TV, Only In Aotearoa) join the line-up. You’ll be treated to a tasty set from Alice Snedden (NZ), writer and star of TVNZ’s Alice Snedden’s Bad News. NZ’s most bombastic pop-comedy duo Two Hearts (NZ) (Laura Daniel & Joseph Moore) inject a shot of music into the night and UK comedian Ian Smith (UK) returns to NZ for his debut Best Foods Comedy Gala appearance.
Expect an all-star line-up featuring some of the best to launch this year’s Comedy Fest, packed into two and a half hours of rollicking good times.
