Taskmaster returns for a hilarious eighth series!
It’s series eight of Taskmaster, which means the all-powerful Taskmaster himself, Greg Davies, is back, ably supported by his obedient little man servant, Little Alex Horne. Once more, they’ll be forcing five helpless comics to complete a vast array of meaningless challenges designed to test their creativity, speed of thought and ability to not look like idiots.
The five brave souls girding themselves to face the Taskmaster’s wrath when they inevitably fail on that last count are: BAFTA winning comedian Iain Stirling (Love Island, Host of Dog Ate My Homework), actor and writer Joe Thomas (Inbetweeners, Fresh Meat), acclaimed stand-up Lou Sanders (, Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Sick of It), comedian and champion quizzer Paul Sinha (The Chase, Tonight At The Palladium), and BAFTA winning actor Sian Gibson (Peter Kay's Car Share, Murder On the Blackpool Express).
They all face a long, hard journey, but for one of them it will be worth it when they reach the end of 10 gruelling episodes and triumphantly lift Greg’s golden head above their own (inferior) human head to become the seventh Taskmaster Champion.
Which one of them will have that honour very much depends on how they tackle Greg’s tricky tasks. Who can excite Alex to the highest degree? Who can poke the most unexpected thing through the roof of a charming woodland grotto? And can any of these professional comics bring cheer to a gloomy former traffic warden? All five will have their spectacular successes and their unfathomable failures, but in the end perhaps the winner will simply be the one who provokes the least fury from the terrifying Taskmaster.
