A social experiment documentary following the first babies to be born in Aotearoa in the millennium.
In December 1999, a TV crew eagerly awaited the arrival of the subjects of their latest documentary – the first babies to be born in Aotearoa in the millennium.
Their parents spoke openly about their dreams and worries for their newborns.
Three years on, the seven families were filmed again, checking in their chaotic lives with toddlers.
The seven stars of that programme are now almost 18. They’re a rep water polo player, a keen mountain biker, an environmentalist, a foodie, a fundamental Christian, a cancer survivor and a popular It-girl who loves to party.
Millennium Teens revisits the families and, for the first time, hears from the teens themselves. Each teen shares their own story to tell of both the fun times and the challenges that have made them the people they are now.
Funded by NZ On Air.
Millennium Teens airs from Tuesday 4th September, 8.30pm.
